Facebook poke feature was a fun one until users got worried of what it really meant. The confusion led to the point that many users abandoned using it. I guess that's the reason Facebook is burying this feature under facebook.com/pokes. Initially, you won't beg to see this poking feature as it is embedded boldly close to each users profile.

If you want to poke everyone that has poked you, then you have to visit facebook.com/pokes on your web browser to poke them back.
You'll see the list of friends and Facebook users that have poked you.
Mind you, friends of friends can poke you. Hence, you shouldn't expect to see pokes from friends alone.
